"SUU KEE " means neighbour in Hainanese dialect. During my father’s time, (My late father resided in Malaysia) he used to refer people staying near his province in Hainan, China as "his Suu Kee" or “our Suu Kee”. Sometimes, I suspect, he wanted to make his friends felt special. So he would probably refer them as "his Suu Kee" or "our Suu Kee" even though they did not stay anywhere near.
How true. The internet has brought us all together as one big family. There is no boundary to divide us. Everybody is our neighbour now.
With this website, we hope to relive the spirit of neighbourliness. We share our jokes and gossips. We tell our stories hoping that our past will still linger on for our future generations to appreciate.
Tell us your story. Sing us your song. Let the spirit of neighbourlyness last forever.
